Pocket Plants: Messages of Gratitude to Some of My Favorite Southern Appalachian Plants is a blizzard book that contains illustrations of several common or native Southern Appalachian plants, alongside messages I have addressed directly to the plants themselves.
Each message outlines my experience with each plant and the ways that I am grateful for them.

The pages of the blizzard book open up to release cards containing illustrations of each plant and the messages of gratitude written for them. This book includes Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia), Catawba Rhododendron (Rhododendron catawbiense), Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipfera), Sourwood (Oxydendrum arboreum), Witch Hazel (Hammamelis), Galax (Galax urceolata), Carolina Hemlock (Tsuga caroliniana), and Painted Trillium (Trillium undulatum). Each of these plants is tied to a specific memory or experience for me and this book is my way of paying them tribute.
